Chesapeake Pride Happy Hour: Wednesday, November 28, 6 pm - 'til at the Rockfish, located at the corner of Sixth St. and Severn Ave. in the Eastport section of Annapolis. Wind down from Thanksgiving and wind up for the holidays! Half-price appetizers, plenty of free parking behind the restaurant, lots of space to mingle. MCC of the Chesapeake will be accepting donations for World AIDS Day and HAVEN (HIV and AIDS Volunteer Enrichment Network). If you'd like to participate, make checks out to AA County World AIDS Day Committee or HAVEN. Your check will be your receipt. Any cash donations will be split 50-50 to each group.
World AIDS Day, December 1. Candlelight walk from City Dock (Annapolis) at 6 PM. A silent vigil proceeding up Main Street, around State Circle, past the Governor's Mansion to West Street. The candlelight walk culminates at the Stanton Center at 92 West Washington St. where we will gather at 7 PM to honor friends and loved ones whose lives have been lost to AIDS. Tuesday Aug 7th: Come on out to the inaugural Annapolis Happy Hour for the LGBTQS community (over 21). This first HH will be held at the Back Bar at Boatyard Bar & Grill in Eastport, corner of 4th & Severn, from 6:30 to 8ish. (In the spirit of full disclosure, this social event has been instituted by members of MCC of the Chesapeake in response to feedback provided by folks new to the area or newly out who are looking for a way to meet local folks in a safe, adult setting.)
